Interagency Council on Housing Production & Preservation

The Interagency Council on Housing Production and Preservation (ICHPP) coordinates collaboration across state departments and agencies to advance the development and preservation of housing at all affordability levels and across housing types. The council works to reduce barriers to housing development, streamline production processes, and align state policies and programs to address Rhode Island’s short- and long-term housing needs in support of the state housing plan. It also promotes strategies to maintain and rehabilitate existing housing stock, particularly affordable housing, supports initiatives that ensure safe and healthy living environments, and helps project and plan for future housing needs. In addition, the council identifies ways to strengthen economic and community development through housing opportunities and expand homeownership, particularly for first-generation homebuyers.
