Housing Visualizations

The Executive Office of Housing has partnered with RKG Consulting Group to create Housing Visualizations, an interactive tool intended to help developers, municipalities, and other stakeholders explore the housing potential of parcels across Rhode Island.

Upon completion, users will be able to select any parcel to view its housing suitability score and adjust the underlying factors to explore how different conditions may affect a site’s potential for residential development. The tool will provide a transparent breakdown of the factors that contribute to each score, including proximity to public transit, schools, grocery stores, and other community resources.

The platform will also include visualizations of different housing types to help users see how a range of housing options could fit within individual lots and neighborhoods. These examples will be designed to help communities envision context-sensitive housing that responds to local conditions and complements existing neighborhood character.
