Interagency Council on Homelessness
The Interagency Council on Homelessness coordinates Rhode Island’s statewide efforts to prevent and end homelessness by strengthening coordination among state agencies, community-based and faith-based organizations, volunteer groups, advocacy organizations, and businesses. The council identifies gaps in housing and support services that contribute to homelessness and promotes solutions to address them. It also works to reduce the number of individuals and families entering the homeless emergency response system through proactive, preventative strategies. In addition, the council aligns policies and programs across government to maximize resources, remove barriers to support, and provide recommendations for responding to the needs of people experiencing homelessness.
